The AI-Resilience Self-Audit — $500M Says Skills Beat Titles

A new $500M effort is retraining workers because AI is reorganizing jobs around skills, not titles. In 12 minutes, run the same self-audit on yourself — free — and pick the one skill to double down on.

The AI-Resilience Self-Audit — $500M Says Skills Beat Titles

The idea

In late June 2026, Gina Raimondo and Eric Holcomb launched a $500 million effort (backed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, and Amazon) to retrain workers as AI reshapes jobs. Their core bet: work is being reorganized around skills, not job titles. One of the tools they are funding is AI career coaching. Here is the shortcut — you can run that same coaching session on yourself, for free, using any chat AI. In 12 minutes you will see which of your skills AI is starting to do for you, and which ones it can only make you faster at. Then you pick one skill to build.

Meera kept reading that AI would take analyst jobs and quietly worried she was next.

Instead of guessing, she spent 12 minutes on a free AI self-audit: she listed her weekly tasks and asked which AI could do and which needed her judgment.

The answer was clear — AI could clean the data, but not decide what mattered or explain it to leadership. She got sharper at exactly that, and led the next review.

"AI didn't take my job. It took my busywork — and handed me the part that gets me promoted."

Do the challenge

  1. 1List your real weekly tasks

Write down the 8–10 things you actually do most weeks — not your job title, the real tasks. "Pull the sales report." "Reply to client queries." "Prep the review deck."

💡 Be honest and specific. "Analysis" is too vague. "Compare last month's numbers and flag what changed" is a task AI can be judged against.

  2. 2Run the AI self-audit

Open the free Gemini app (or any chat AI), paste your task list, and ask it to sort each task into "AI can mostly do this" vs "still needs a human." Read where you land.

💡 Here are my weekly work tasks: [paste your list]. For each task, tell me: 1. Can today's AI mostly do this, or does it still need a human? Why? 2. If AI helps, what human skill still makes ME valuable on that task? End with the ONE skill I should build so AI makes me faster instead of replacing me.

  3. 3Name your amplified skills

Look at the tasks marked "needs a human." The skills underneath them — judgment, persuasion, care, taste, relationships — are your amplified skills. AI makes you faster at these, not obsolete.

  4. 4Pick ONE skill to build

Choose the single skill that shows up most in your valued tasks and is worth getting great at. Write it as one sentence: "This quarter I get better at ___."
